Our Mountain Heritage

    Perched along Scrub Ridge, our story begins over a century ago. In the early 1900s, this spot welcomed travelers as a rustic lodge and curio shop—offering rest, supplies, and a warm place to pause along the journey. By 1927, it was known as the Harris Inn, a true roadside destination where guests could enjoy a meal, find a place to stay, and even fuel up before continuing through the mountains.

    Back then, it wasn’t just a stop—it was part of the journey. Cars lined up at the gas pumps out front, travelers wandered through the curio shop, and the porch filled with conversation and laughter from those passing through and those who called the ridge home.

    As the decades passed, the space evolved into what locals came to know simply as Scrub Ridge—a gathering place where familiar faces met, stories were shared, and community was built. For years, it remained a cornerstone of the area, full of character and history, you could feel the moment you walked in.

    When our family took ownership in 2017, we saw more than a building—we saw a legacy worth preserving. With thoughtful renovations, we brought new life to the space, creating a welcoming, family-centered restaurant while honoring the charm and spirit that have always defined it.

    Today, our restaurant continues that tradition—serving as a place where guests come together to enjoy great food, good company, and the simple comfort of feeling at home. With the addition of our five beautifully remodeled guest rooms, we’ve expanded that experience, inviting you to not only dine with us, but to stay and take in everything Tower Ridge Inn has to offer.

    Because while times have changed, the heart of this place remains the same—a place to gather, to share a meal, and to feel at home.
